Built firm infrastructure from the inside, and launched a firm of her own.
As Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Elias Law Group, Alexi built firmwide conflict-vetting, engagement letters, policies, and budgeting tools for a fast-growing litigation firm. She later served as COO and general counsel of a D.C. boutique, and founded Ethos and Edict Law PLLC herself. She brings that experience, and a practical understanding of the ethics rules, to every launch.

Do I need a lawyer to start my own law firm?
You are a lawyer, so you can form the firm yourself. But launching a practice raises questions most attorneys have never had to answer for themselves: entity choice, partnership terms, trust accounting, bar and advertising rules, insurance, hiring, and technology. Working with someone who has built and run firm operations helps you get those decisions right the first time, so you can focus on clients.
How long does it take to launch a firm?
It depends on your jurisdictions, whether you are bringing clients and colleagues with you, and how much infrastructure you need on day one. We start with a launch plan and timeline tailored to your situation, so you know what has to happen before you open your doors and what can wait.
Can you help if I am leaving another firm?
Yes. Departures involve ethical obligations to clients and to your current firm, from how and when clients are notified to how files transfer. We help you plan a professional, rules-compliant transition.
Is this a one-time project or an ongoing engagement?
Either. Many clients engage us for the launch itself, then continue on a flat monthly fee as fractional general counsel and COO as the firm grows.
